April is dedicated to autism awareness, a month-long invitation to increase our understanding of how to live with, or love those who live with, autism spectrum disorder.
"Autism is like a fingerprint, no two are alike." There's no universal key to understanding ASD. But there is still learning to be had, support to be given, and patience to be shown surrounding ASD and those whose lives are touched by it. My sons have autism, and our family has seen firsthand how important the programs and services are which help them develop and communicate.
This Saturday my family is participating in the Race for Autism Superhero 5k. The event raises funds for programs and services helping those with ASD. If you care to lend your support, you have our family's love and gratitude.
